Custom style jersey with everything sewn on, size XL. Hand-signed and inscribed by Roberto Clemente Jr.
The inscription that was made by Clemente Jr. marked the date that Clemente had his 3000th hit on the last day of the 1972 season which ironically was his final career hit as he was tragically killed in a plane crash just 3 months later. On New Year's Eve, December 31st, 1972, Roberto Clemente chartered a plane for a humanitarian mission to earthquake-striken Nicaragua. Even though Clemente had some concerns about the plane's safety, he flew. Clemente's flight crashed into the Atlantic Ocean shortly after takeoff killing him and all four crew members. Today, Clemente is recognized as one of the few baseball immortals to ever live.
